Built up Roofing (BUR) or traditional built up 3 layer flat roofing systems.
These roofs consist of multiple layers of roofing felt or fiberglass matting saturated with bitumen (asphalt). These layers are alternated with hot-applied bitumen or cold-applied adhesive. Gravel or a mineral surface is often applied to protect the roof from UV radiation and provide durability. BUR roofs are durable and long-lasting but can be heavy and require regular maintenance.
Single-Ply Membrane Flat Roofing
Single-ply roofing systems use a single layer of synthetic material, typically TPO, PVC, or EPDM. They are lightweight, easy to install, and offer good UV resistance. Single-ply membranes are versatile and have a relatively long lifespan.
EPDM Rubber Flat Roofing
EPDM is a type of single-ply membrane made of a rubber-like material. EPDM roofs are durable, flexible, and resistant to UV rays and weathering. They are often installed as large sheets, minimizing seams and potential leaks.
Fibreglass Roofing (GRP) Flat Roofing
GRP roofing involves a seamless, reinforced fiberglass mat that is saturated with a polyester resin. The layers are built up on the roof, creating a strong, watertight, and durable surface. Fibreglass roofs are lightweight, resistant to UV radiation, and have a long lifespan. They are known for their excellent waterproofing properties, low maintenance requirements and can be used in various applications, including flat roofs, balconies, and gutters. They are often used in residential and commercial settings, offering a smooth and aesthetically pleasing finish.
Green Flat Roofing
Green roofs also known as living roofs or eco-roofs, are vegetated layers installed on top of a building’s roof. They consist of a waterproofing layer, a root barrier, a drainage system, a growing medium (soil or substrate), and various types of plants or vegetation.
